Today, Worrybomb and I went to Heathrow to help in the Terminal 2 trials. We pretended to be passengers on our way to Bangkok. We had to check in, go through security and then do the same in reverse, going to baggage and then customs.
We had a great time, in between the pretending bits we were fed and entertained. Worrybomb took part in the “who can eat a strawberry lace the fastest” competition. She was a bit shy, but there were 3000 other people watching!
We got to walk around the new airport that will be reopened the 4th of June. Everything was new and shiny.
Worrybomb had her Trunki which was wonderful and it was commented on lots by testers and staff alike. The best bit about the little suitcase is that when tired you can sit on it and be pulled along! I want an adult version!
It wasn’t all as smooth as they had hoped and a fire alert stopped the action for us temporarily. We could see five fire engines in the other part of the terminal. But it was okay, we got to see a juggler, a magician and have some lunch whilst we waited. Worrybomb even had a caricature of her drawn.
There were two balloon makers, a lady on stilts and lots more to see. We had lots of fun and we got to see one of the biggest sculptures ( 77 tons and over 70 metres long ), “Slipstream” by Richard Wilson close up
So even if the trials didn’t quite go to plan for them, we had a super time!
